’Western Togolanders’ block major entry roads into Volta region

Some armed men believed to be members of the Western Togoland secession group have reportedly blocked major entry points into Volta Region.

From what Celebrities Buzz is picking up, the aggressive armed men are said to have blocked Accra – Ho – Aveyime – Adidome – Mepe – Akuse – Sogakope -roads.

Ghana Police Service has as a result issued a statement telling commuters that they might experience heavy traffic on these roads.

“Good morning Ghana, commuters to and from Accra – Ho – Aveyime – Adidome – Mepe – Akuse – Sogakope – Aflao are likely to experience traffic due to security operations within those areas. Anybody traveling on any of these roads should exercise caution., The Ghana Police Service’ posts on Facebook read.

A Celebrities Buzz source in the Volta Region has made us understand that cars coming from places like Akatsi, Aflao, Dzodze, Agbozume, among others have made a stop at Sogakope waiting for the blocks to be removed.

Update

As at 6:40 AM, our source informed us that the blocks have now been removed and that cars are moving now.
