The Miami Dolphins are an American football professional team based in the Miami metropolitan area. They are a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) East division of the National Football League (NFL). The team’s home games are held at Hard Rock Stadium, which is located in the northern suburb of Miami Gardens, Florida. The Dolphins were founded by actor-comedian Danny Thomas and attorney-politician Joe Robbie. They debuted in the AFL in 1966.

Since the Miami Seahawks competed in the All-America Football Conference in 1946 before becoming the first incarnation of the Baltimore Colts, the region had been without a professional football team.

By the letter of the law, tampering is technically illegal… just as driving 68 mph on the highway is a violation of the rules of the road.

When this happens, the punishment is usually a slap on the wrist, a fine, or the loss of a mid-round draft pick, and life goes on.

It is even less of an offense when the player who is the subject of the tampering does not even sign with the tampering team.

The NFL targeted the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, docking the team multiple draft picks, including a first-round pick in 2023, after an investigation revealed that they tampered with Tom Brady and Sean Payton.

The owner, Stephen Ross, has also been suspended until October.
