Tyson Luke Fury (born August 12, 1988) is a professional boxer from the United Kingdom. He is a two-time world heavyweight champion, having held the WBC championship since defeating Deontay Wilder in 2020, as well as The Ring magazine title from 2020 until August 2022; before that, he held the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring crowns after defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. With his victory over Wilder, Fury became the third heavyweight, after Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali, to hold The Ring magazine championship twice, and is largely regarded as the lineal heavyweight champion by media publications. ESPN ranks Fury as the world’s top active heavyweight as of August 2022.

Fury represented both England and Ireland as an amateur because he was born in Manchester to an Irish Traveller family. Fury comes from a family of Irish Travellers with ancestors from Belfast and Galway; his parents immigrated to England when he was a child. He won the ABA super-heavyweight title in 2008 before becoming professional the following year at the age of 20. After winning the English heavyweight title twice, he defeated the 14-0 Derek Chisora in 2011 to become the British and Commonwealth champion. He went on to win the Irish and WBO Inter-Continental belts before overcoming Chisora in a rematch for the European and WBO International heavyweight titles in 2014. This success, combined with his 24-0 record, earned Fury a bout in Germany against long-reigning world champion Wladimir Klitschko, which he won by majority decision.
