The Big Brother television franchise is the inspiration for the Nigerian reality competition television series Big Brother Naija, originally known as Big Brother Nigeria.

Contestants try to avoid being kicked out of the house by viewers who vote for their favourite housemates to continue on the program to win a significant monetary reward and other material objects at the show’s end.

From 5 March to 4 June 2006, the program’s first season debuted on M-Net and DStv Channel 37. The Alexander-Forbes auditing firm certified the election results.

The show’s first season was broadcast on DStv Channel 37 from 5 March to 4 June 2006. To the pleasure of the remaining roommates, the game received two new players on Day 23.

The seventh housemate to depart was Ebuka, who had been the most popular housemate for a few weeks and was usually expected to win the competition. Many fans believe that Joe’s Fan Club was responsible for Ebuka’s expulsion (JFC).

Joe was immediately fired from the program.

By delaying the nominations for the day and deceiving the housemates into believing they would be ousted depending on how successfully they completed their chores on Day 79, Big Brother put another wrinkle to the game. In actuality, there were no more evictions, and viewers began to choose the winner, who was 26-year-old Katung Aduwak.
