Clive Cox had a farming background from Somerset. He had a successful career as an NH Jockey.
Clive rode at least 100 winners and later became Assistant Trainer to Mikey Heaton Ellis.
Clive over the licence at Barbury Castle when Mikey died in 1999.
In a few years, Clive began recording success on the tracks and the number of winners started increasing gradually per year.
In 2007, Beacon Lodge provided Clive with his first Group winner.
Then Gilt Edge Girl provided his first Group One winner in 2010. A string of pattern race winners has followed and helped Clive achieve success at the very highest level.

Clive is married with two daughters. His wife is Tina and their daughters are Emily and Lucy.
In May 2000 Clive, Tina and their daughters Lucy and Emily moved to John Francome’s picturesque Beechdown Stables yard on the edge of Lambourn Downs.
Currently, Clive Cox is based in Lambourn Downs.
