American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League, Derrick Deshaun Watson was born on September 14, 1995 (NFL). He participated in college football at Clemson, where he helped the squad win a national title in 2016. The Houston Texans made Watson their first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Following an injury-shortened, productive rookie campaign, Watson led the Texans to back-to-back division titles in 2018 and 2019, and in 2020, he finished first in the league in passing yards. In each of his three seasons as Houston’s main starter, he was also named to the Pro Bowl. He is second in all-time career passer rating and has the highest career completion percentage of all time (minimum 1,500 attempts).

More than 20 female massage therapists have filed lawsuits against Watson since 2021, accusing him of sexual harassment and assault. Watson settled 20 allegations of sexual misconduct, but he continues to deny any wrongdoing.

Watson missed the entire 2021 season due to disagreements with the Texans’ management and numerous sexual misconduct lawsuits, which eventually resulted in a trade to the Cleveland Browns. One of the most expensive contracts in NFL history, Watson signed a five-year, $230 million contract in March 2022.
