Hedderson has held the positions of Minister of Education, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Recreation, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Transportation, and Works, as well as Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Hedderson served as a teacher and principal at Bishop O’Neill Collegiate in Brigus prior to starting a 16-year political career. In the House of Assembly in 1999, Hedderson was appointed to represent the Harbour Main-Whitbourne region.
