Omar Sachedina is a well-known journalist for Canadian television. His birthday is August 21st, 1982. In addition to the duties that he is already responsible for, on September 5, 2022, he will begin his new role as the lead news anchor of CTV National News as well as the senior editor of that program.

After sending a letter to the editor of a local newspaper when he was just 12 years old, Sachedina once remarked that this was the moment that he realized he wanted to pursue a career in journalism.

Sachedina traveled to Uganda in 2005 to report on and produce a feature documentary for the PBS Frontline Fellowship program titled Uganda: The Return, which examines the return of Asians to Uganda after they were expelled in 1972.

He did this because he was curious about the East African homeland of his parents. In addition, he has covered the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Kenya for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
