“Sophie hopes her Doodle will remind people that they are not alone, even in the toughest of times,” Google.com noted in the announcement. The Martin County High School junior had reportedly submitted her artworks three times for the annual contest. This year was the first time her entry was selected as Florida’s nominee before she emerged as the national winner.
