Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, was born on April 22, 1990, in Los Angeles, California. (MGK). Houston-based Baker was born there to missionaries. After moving around the world, Baker’s family settled in Egypt for the first four years of his life.

In his compositions, he is known for fusing contemporary and alternative hip hop with rock.

Massive Machine Guns Kelly released four mixtapes between 2007 and 2010 before signing with Bad Boy Records. Lace Up, his first studio album, debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 in 2012. It included his breakthrough single “Wild Boy” (featuring Waka Flocka Flame).

 

Baker alleges he was bullied by children in his neighbourhood and had only two school uniforms. At the ethnically diverse Hamilton Middle School in Denver, where he was enrolled when he started listening to rap, in the sixth grade.
Baker attended Shaker Heights High School while living in Cleveland.

 

Who are Machine Gun Kelly’s parents?

His parents’ identities are still unknown, but his parents were missionaries and deeply religious people. According to MGK, he was abandoned by his mother when he was nine years old and grew up with a single father who had mental health issues. After his father kicked him out, Machine Gun Kelly ended up living in his basement with a friend following his high school graduation. On July 5th, 2020, his father died one year after the release of his emotional 2019 album Hotel Diablo.
