9th of August 2022, 6:22 PM ET – A Mississippi grand jury has exonerated Carolyn Bryant Donham of all charges after the white woman’s accusations against Emmett Till in 1955 resulted in the teen’s torture and murder.
Bryant and Milam gouged the boy’s eye. They then shot him in the head along the Tallahatchie River. Two men strapped the teen’s body to a metal fan with barbed wire and dumped it in a river. Bryant and Milam were detained when Wright reported the kidnapping. Till’s body was found in August 1955.
Who found Emmett Till’s body in the river?
His back and hips were visibly battered, and a fan blade wrapped in the barbed wire around his neck dragged down his torso. He was wounded above his right ear, there was evidence that he was shot, one of his eyes was gone from its socket, and his skull was seriously damaged.
Three days after Till was kidnapped and murdered, two young boys fishing in the Tallahatchie River discovered his bloated, mangled remains.
