He is a member of the Catholic University of America’s board of trustees and serves as chairman of the board of trustees for Johns Hopkins Medicine. He received a bachelor of Science from Dartmouth College in 1971. At the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, he continued his education, receiving his MBA with a finance concentration in 1974.
For almost ten years, Conway served in a variety of roles at the First National Bank of Chicago, including corporate finance, commercial lending, workout loans, and general management. In the course of his employment with MCI Communications between 1981 and 1986, he had a number of different financial jobs until being appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer in 1984.
