Rescued by Ruby premieres on March 17. The feel-good dog drama stars The Flash‘s Grant Gustin as state trooper Daniel O’Neil. It’s Dan’s dream to work in the Search & Rescue unit, but he doesn’t have a dog that he can train to become his partner. Enter Ruby, a shelter dog in need of a good home.

Ruby has had her fair share of families but none of them have worked out. The blame is largely placed on her attitude. She’s not aggressive, but she is rambunctious and doesn’t respond to commands. Ruby’s high energy has overshadowed the other aspects of her personality, so much so that if she can’t find her place with a good family soon, she could get put down by the shelter.

Dan, however, is determined to make things work with Ruby. Not just to achieve his dream but also to help Ruby realize hers. She’s a dog who needs a special kind of family, one that understands her needs and isn’t put off by her energy. Dan believes that family is his own, he just has to get Ruby to listen to him so he can get her through the training she needs to become a rescue K-9.
