A student from Georgia University now holds the record for the longest field goal ever made at the Rose Bowl. He attracts a lot of media coverage because of the large sunglasses he wears during races.

Blankenship received recognition in July 2018 as he was named to the Southeastern Conference’s (SEC) Preseason First Team All-SEC. He kicked all 65 extra points and 19 of 23 field goals in 2018. Blankenship was named to the 2018 All-SEC Second Team after the regular season concluded.

Throughout his entire collegiate career, Blankenship scored all 200 of his possible extra points.

Blankenship served as the Colts’ placekicker to begin the season; however, he was only able to participate in five games before suffering a hip injury that forced him to be placed on injured reserve, which ultimately ended his season.
