Paul Kagame, President of Republic of Rwanda and arguably the most loved President on the continent and beyond has lately been digging holes in Africa’s relationship with the outside world, especially the superpowers.

He comments on relevant issues, especially colonial arrangements deemed as setbacks for the continent and advocate for a change in narrative to help rebuild the continent.

Latest among his concerns is the terms and conditions attached to the printing of money outside Africa, a very exploitative practice which has been going on for years now.

The Commander in chief of The Rwandan armed forces could not fathom the arrangement that comes with it. He questioned that, “Why should someone print paper and hand them over to us(Africa) as money and let us payback, not with a paper which we also have a right to print?”

He further added that, Instead of the cash payments, we are required to pay these paper loans in values, resources and efforts. ” I have come to the realization that this is an act of modern slavery and colonization”…he stated.

What do you make of this concern? Do you agree with him? What is the way forward??

  2. Comment: Brilliant power point from the Rwanda prez. I share the same opinion with him. Africa leaders must think and be brave to change the monetary system

  3. Be careful with your questions, because USA usually “liberates ” those who ask the right questions.. Just saying

  4. Comment:I wonder, why are most African leaders not realising this. and why did it take this long for us to figure it out ?

    1. Many leaders realised this a long time ago. This is why Africa has had so many coups and assasinations for any leader that creates an environment good enuff to facilitate tht discussion and change is eliminated. And our “opposition parties” are now knowingly or unknowingly a party to this scheme – helping with the elimination today with modern coups (sham elections). Please note that elections are a costly demand by the West from many nations through which regime change and instability is “managed”.

I think our major question shld be how do we protect our leaders from external attack while we procees to undo all these unjustices by the West and now China.
