Young Ghanaian actress, Maame Serwaa has called on authorities to prevent celebrities from campaigning for political parties in the country as the general election approaches.

She argued in an interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show ‘ that if the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has placed a ban on celebrities from advertising alcoholic beverages, then the same must be applied when it comes to celebrities campaigning for political parties.

Maame Serwaa, known in private life as Clara Benson, said celebrities risk their careers when they publicly show their support for political parties. The young Kumawood actress said many of them are likely to lose some of their fans and other endorsements due to their political differences.

As Ghanaians are gearing towards the 2020 general elections, Maame Serwaa advocated for peace, adding that we can attain it if everybody exercises patience. She charged Ghanaians to go out in their numbers and exercise their franchise on December 7, 2020. Maame Serwaa disclosed how happy she is to vote for the first time this year.
