He spent his formative years in the Chelsea academy before making a move to Bayern Munich in July 2019 at the age of 16. Musiala made his professional debut on 3 June 2020, coming on as a substitute for Bayern Munich II in a 3-2 victory over Preußen Münster in the 3. Liga. Just a few weeks later, on 20 June 2020, he made his Bundesliga debut against SC Freiburg, becoming the youngest player to represent Bayern in the league at the age of 17 years and 115 days.

Although he did not feature in any matches, Musiala was part of the squad that won the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League. In November 2020, he received his first call-up to the England U21 squad and made his debut as a substitute in a 3-1 win over the Andorra U21s.
