Mexico City, Oct 6 (IANS) Eighteen human beings, along with a metropolis mayor, have been killed and three others wounded while gunmen opened firing at a city hall in San Miguel Totolapan city in Mexico.

The gunmen opened firing at a metropolis corridor in Guerrero on Wednesday wherein 18 people had been killed, BBC pronounced.

Left-wing PRD birthday celebration, to which Mayor Conrado Mendoza Almeda belonged, condemned the assault and sought justice.

Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda took to Twitter to mention she deeply regretted the deaths.

Prior to the attack on Wednesday, alleged participants of Los Tequileros, related to a drug cartel, launched a video on social networking sites saying its return to the area.

Los Tequileros had devastated Guerrero among 2015 and 2017 and were threatening the mayors of the place until its leader Raybel Jacobo de Almonte was killed.

The gang is known as after its leader De Almonte who turned into known as El Tequilero – the Tequila Drinker.
