After graduating from Rennes’ development program, Doucouré made his professional debut for the squad in Ligue 1 during the 2012–2013 season. The 30-year-old was quickly loaned to La Liga team Granada CF after being endorsed to Head Association club Watford on February 1 for an undisclosed sum.
