Albert Rusnak was born and raised in Vyskov, Czech Republic, on July 7, 1994. Albert Rusnák, his father, joined Manchester City as a scout in 2010 and brought his son along. He was a former manager as well as a professional football player.
Rusnak played youth football in his hometown with MFK Kosice before enrolling in the Manchester City Academy from 2010 to 2013. The Slovakia international made his debut for the national team on November 15, 2016, in a scoreless draw with Austria.
He scored seven goals in 24 appearances for Slovakia’s U-17, U-19, and U-21 teams at the younger levels. On January 13, 2022, Rusnak signed a Designated Player deal with the Sounders. The offensive midfielder started 30 of 32 regular-season games after joining as a free agent with Seattle prior to the season. He scored three goals and set up two more.
