Alexander Zak Lees, a cricketer from England, was born on April 14, 1993. Lees, a left-handed batsman who also bowls right-arm leg-spin, has signed a contract with Durham after previously playing for Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Lees made his England cricket debut in March 2022 against the West Indies. He grew up in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and went to Holy Trinity Senior School.
Before the age of thirteen, he began playing cricket with Bradshaw Cricket Club in the Halifax Cricket League, quickly progressing from junior to senior levels.
When Lees was 13, he moved from Bradshaw to Illingworth. He first played for Yorkshire at the under-11 level in 2006.
Prior to joining the first team, he played for and captained the Yorkshire Academy in the Yorkshire ECB County Premier League and the Yorkshire Second XI in the Second XI Championship.
In June 2010, he made his first-class debut, scoring 38 runs against India A.
Lees scored 121 against Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities at Headingley in April 2013, his first-ever first-class century.
