Alexandra Valeria Botez, who was born on September 24, 1995, in Dallas, Texas, is an American-Canadian chess player, and also a commentator, Twitch broadcaster, and YouTuber.

She won the U.S. Girls Nationals at the age of 15 years old, and she proceed by winning the Canadian National Girls Championship five times in a roll. She presently holds the title of Women FIDE Master from the International Chess Federation and has a maximum FIDE Elo rating of 2092 from March 2016.

Botez uses her platform to promote diversity and inclusion in chess. She is an advocate for getting more women and underrepresented groups involved in the game and has spoken out against discrimination and harassment in the chess community.

In 2020, Botez graduated from Stanford University with a degree in international relations. She has also worked as a commentator for chess tournaments, including the 2021 FIDE World Cup. She currenly stream on Twitch and create content for her YouTube channel.
