Her parents were Ira Frederick Aldridge, father, who was an African-American actor and Amanda von Brandt, a mother who was also Swedish.

She was an opera singer and a teacher. She had a sister by the name Luranah Aldridge who was also an opera singer.

Amanda Aldridge composed love songs, suites, sambas and light orchestra pieces under the pseudonym of Montague Ring.

Amanda Aldridge Cause of Death

Amanda Aldridge died at the age of 89 years old on 9 March 1956 in London. She died a day before her ninetieth birthday.

The cause of Amanda’s death has still not been revealed. But before her death, she was diagnosed with laryngitis which damaged her throat.

That made her quit singing and then took up music composition and teaching.

Amanda Aldridge composed more romantic parlour music.
