Amir Khan whose real name is Amir Iqbal Khan happens to be a British former professional boxer who was born on December 8, 1986. He is known to have held the unified light-welterweight World Championships between the years 2009 and 2012.

It included the WBA and IBF titles.

Amir is also known to be the holder of the Commonwealth lightweight title from the year 2007 to 2008.

Khan earned a silver medal in the lightweight event at the 2004 Olympics as an amateur boxer, becoming Britain’s youngest Olympic medalist in boxing at the age of 17. He was awarded ESPN prospect of the year in 2007.

At the age of 22, he became one of the youngest British professional world champions, capturing the WBA championship.

He began his professional career in the year July 2005 when he went against David Bailey in July 2005.
