Anvar Chingizoglu was an Azerbaijani historian, ethnologist, and genealogy who primarily focused on the history and ancestry of medieval Azerbaijan, Iran, and the Ottoman Empire. He was born on 10 May 1962 and died on 10 July 2022.
Anvar Chingizoglu was born in the Azerbaijani town of Jabrail. His father was originally from the Azerbaijani village of Aşa Yalvnd in the Fizuli Rayon. He earned his degree in 1990 from the Azerbaijan State University’s journalism faculty.
From 1990 to 1993, Chingizoglu worked for the newspaper “Araz” (Aras). To Azrbaycan Televiziya v. Radio verilişlari Qapal Shmdar Cmiyyti, he was accused of being a redactor. Later, he began writing books about the ancestry and history of Azerbaijan.
Geopolitics, the history, and the ethnic makeup of Turkic peoples were all topics that fascinated Chingizoglu.
Chingizoglu worked on a broad range of scientific issues that essentially encompassed every facet of Afshar ethnography.
Afshar Tribe (2008), Hossein Qholi Khan Gasimlu-Avshar (2012), Fath-Ali Khan Arashlu-Afshar (2014), and Afshar Culture are three of his important books on the history of the Afshar people (2014).
He has written 293 printed scholarly publications, including 70 books.
