Practically 5 years after the discharge of their final album, “Every little thing Now,” the sixth studio album by Arcade Fireplace, has been confirmed for a Could 6, 2022 launch through Columbia Data.

WE’s arrival is preceded by first single “The Lightning I, II,” obtainable now throughout digital platforms – and as a video directed by Emily Kai Bock, which will be seen HERE.

Produced by Nigel Godrich, Win & Régine, and recorded in a number of locales together with New Orleans, El Paso and Mount Desert Island, WE paradoxically distills “the longest we’ve ever spent writing, uninterrupted, most likely ever” (per the band’s Win Butler) right into a concise 40 minute epic – one as a lot concerning the forces that threaten to drag us away from the folks we love, as it’s impressed by the pressing want to beat them. WE’s cathartic journey follows a definable arc from darkness into gentle over the course of seven songs divided into two distinct sides — Facet “I” channeling the concern and loneliness of isolation, and Facet “WE” expressing the enjoyment and energy of reconnection:

“I”

Age of Nervousness I Age of Nervousness II (Rabbit Gap) Finish of the Empire I-IV

“WE”

The Lightning I, II Unconditional I (Lookout Child) Unconditional II (Race and Faith) WE

On the album’s cowl, {a photograph} of a human eye by the artist JR evokes Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black gap on the middle of the galaxy. This gorgeous picture — embellished by the distinctive airbrush coloration tinting of Terry Pastor (using the identical bodily approach he employed on David Bowie’s iconic Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust covers) – is the visible expression of WE.

Arcade Fireplace is: Régine Chassagne, Win Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, Jeremy Gara, & Will Butler.
