He attended the Woodward School in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn but later moved to the Stockbridge School in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, graduating in the year 1965. Arlo briefly attended the Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, and also received an honorary doctorate from Siena College in the year 1981 and also from Westfield State College in the year 2008.
