Sheila Alsina and August Alsina Sr. welcomed August Alsina into the world on September 3, 1992, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Alsina was raised in a terrible household where both his father and stepfather were crack addicts. His mother moved him to Houston, Texas, during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. His father later passed away as a result of drug misuse after that.
Alsina turned to music despite his family’s disinterest in it as a kind of solace. After hearing Lauren Hill sing “His Eyes on a Sparrow” from “Sister Act 2,” he was inspired to start singing. Lyfe Jennings’ album “Lyfe 268-192,” which included his debut YouTube video “Hypothetically,” was released in 2007.

He consequently began posting video renditions of songs by other singers to his YouTube channel, notably Musiq Soulchild.
Alsina’s recreational activities eventually evolved into a bright future. He decided to pursue singing as a career even though his mother had other ideas for him, which resulted in a disagreement. At the age of 16, he returned to New Orleans and enrolled in high school. As the hunger drew nearer, his life began to spiral out of control, and he turned to the streets and began selling narcotics.
