On July 9, 2012, Azah Aziz died away from complications related to a stroke at the age of 84.
Azah Aziz Children: Meet Daughter Zeti Akhtar Aziz
Born on August 26, 1947, Ungku Zeti Akhtar binti Ungku Abdul Aziz served as the 7th Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia. A native of Petaling Jaya, she attended the Assunta School there beginning in 1964. She continued her education at St. John’s Institution in Kuala Lumpur and graduated from Form 6. She attended the University of Malaya and graduated with a degree in economics in 1970.
She attended the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), an elite university in Philadelphia, and earned a doctorate in international and monetary economics in 1978. She conducted an innovative analysis of the impact of financial markets on monetary policy as part of her doctoral dissertation. Zeti and her husband Tawfiq Ayman are the proud parents of two little children.
