Margera was raised by Phil and April Margera. Margera is Vincent “Don Vito” Margera’s nephew and Jess Margera’s younger brother. Because of his propensity to intentionally run into walls, his grandfather gave him the moniker “Bam Bam” when he was three years old. Over time, his classmates abbreviated it to “Bam.” Margera was homeschooled by his mother after quitting high school in his junior year, and he eventually earned his GED.
Margera started recording skateboarding and trick videos of himself and his pals, and these videos eventually turned into the CKY video series.
Margera began his professional career in 1997 and 1998 with financial assistance from Toy Machine Skateboards. Margera joined Team Element, the showcase team for the skateboard business, in 2001.
Margera has essentially left the world of professional skateboarding as of 2022 because she no longer has any significant sponsors.
