Barry Sinclair made his test debut in 1963 against England and his last debut against India on March 7, 1968.
Rongatai College in Wellington is his Alma mater. He also featured domestically for the Wellington team from 1955 to 1971.
After retirement, he was appointed as the patron of the New Zealand Cricket player’s association.
He was also appointed as member of the New Zealand order of merit for his service to cricket as a whole.
