Sinclair was New Zealand’s captain in three Tests in 1965-66 the second and third Tests with England as the opponent and in 1967-68, the First Test against India, and also against the visiting Australian team in 1966-67 four-match sequence and on a short tour in 1967-68 to Australia.
Sinclair 1968, resigned from International cricket to focus on work. Sinclair’s greatest Test score was 138 in 1963-64 which was played against South Africa in Auckland, it was earned in 345 minutes out of a team that of just 263.
He was appointed a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his work in cricket in 2016, during the Queens Birthday Honours. Sinclair was appointed a Legend of Wellington Sport in 2015.
