On Thursday, July 7, shortly before 7:30 a.m., Bereket Selomun, age 20, was discovered in the woods off Brittain Way, close to Fairlands Valley Park. He was found there with several stab wounds, and doctors declared him dead.
Bereket was given refuge in the UK after fleeing Eritrea as a young child and finally making it to England. He stayed in Stevenage for quite some time.
He managed the assembly line at the Stevenage Europe Snacks facility on Bessemer Drive.
Agnieszka Peda, a coworker and friend of Bereket, has established a fundraising campaign here to assist with funeral expenses.

I am a friend of Bereket, who unfortunately perished in Stevenage forests, said Agnieszka, often known as Aggie, who works in the laboratory at Europe Snacks, formerly known as Kolak Snackfood Ltd.
Bereket was stabbed to death in Stevenage. His friends have launched an appeal to help raise money for his funeral costs. He died after being stabbed multiple times in the town.
