The iconic actor Bernard Cribbins, who passed away at the age of 93, was adored by many. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who followed in his footsteps.

Throughout his career as an actor, comedian, singer, and raconteur, he tried everything, from pantomime to Shakespeare, Jackanory to Top of the Pops.

He gave the voice for the Wombles, as the cranky but sympathetic station master in The Railway Children, and was Catherine Tate’s charming grandfather in Doctor Who.

He went away in 2005. Because of his adaptability, Cribbins, an Oldham native who portrayed the narrator in The Wombles, won over young viewers all throughout the country. He furthermore made more than 100 appearances on Jackanory.

Before a well-known actor, Bernard Cribbins, passed away on Friday at the age of 93, it had only been a few months following the passing of his devoted wife of more than 70 years.

His death was inevitable.
