Bill Pearl is a retired American former IFBB professional bodybuilder. He was Mr. Universe four times (1953, 1961, 1967, and 1971) and was also dubbed “World’s Best-Built Man of the Century.” Throughout his career, Pearl has won numerous bodybuilding titles.

Pearl was fascinated by powerful physiques at an early age, before his adolescence, and it became a passion of his to build his body. But once a buddy showed him the magazine ‘Strength and Health,’ which featured huge names like John Grimek, Clancy Ross, and Steve Reeves, Pearl had great dreams… like one day being on the cover. It would take two years for him and his two pals to save money and buy a barbell set because iron was being used for more important matters during the present war (World War 2).

Prior to receiving his weights, Pearl would utilize gallon cans of corn and green beans from his father’s restaurant as dumbbells and would take on challenging jobs to improve his muscles. He was inspired by Strongman heroes Eugen Sandow and Louis Cyr.
