Johnathan Jamall Porter, popularly known by his stage name Blueface, is an American rapper, he was born on January 20, 1997. He became popular in October 2018, due to his rapping technique, which was made popular by the release of the music video for his song “Respect My Cryppin.” The following month, he joined Cash Money West, Birdman’s Cash Money Records label, West Coast division. His most successful record peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019 with a remix of his song “Thotiana” (with Cardi B and YG). His Find the Beat studio album, was released in 2020.
Blueface started rapping under the alias Blueface Bleedem, in January 2017, which is a reference to his ties, in the School Yard Crips street gang. After leaving Fayetteville State University, Blueface moved back to Los Angeles. While at his friend’s studio, named Laudiano, to get a phone charger, he was challenged to rap over a beat. This inspired Blueface to start working on his first song, “Deadlocs,” which Laudiano produced.
