Robert William Barker, known as Bob Baker was born on December 12, 1923. Bob Baker is an American retired television game show presenter, he is popularly known for hosting Truth or Consequences, which was from 1956 to 1975.
He also hosts CBS’s The Price is Right, which he hosted from 1972 to 2007, the show is known to be the longest-running daytime game show, in North American television history.
Barker had his first media position at Springfield’s KTTS-FM Radio, this happened while he was a student at Drury.
He and his wife relocated to Lake Worth Beach, Florida, from Springfield, where he worked as the news editor and announcer at the adjacent WWPG 1340 AM in Palm Beach (now WPBR in Lantana).
He relocated to California in 1950, so as to further his radio profession.
