He played for West Bromwich Albion Football Club, where he played more than 300 league games. Hope also helped the club to win two major trophies and seven caps for Scotland. He played for both Scotland’s Under 23 and the senior national teams.
After retiring from playing football, he coached Bromsgrove Rovers for five years and then moved to Burton Albion and then moved back to coach Bromsgrove Rovers again. Hope was awarded a testimonial match against Athletic Bilbao.
