The Erotic Barber, real name Brandon Curington and also known as Brandon The Barber, is a gay, Black, Atlanta-based barber known for giving nude haircuts and doubling as an OnlyFans model. A specific, explicit video of him wearing a blue baseball cap is often used in Thugposting memes similarily to both Thug Shaker and Ambatukam. On TikTok and elsewhere in 2022 and early 2023, the Erotic Barber was matched up against Dreamybull in powerscaling edits. Additionally, a CapCut template featuring the Minions at a movie theater was used to showcase Erotic Barber videos. He’s known for having Instagram, YouTube and TikTok presences, however, he gained his largest following on his since-deleted Twitter account from 2019 to 2021. In March 2023, Brandon Curington cut Twitch streamer BruceDropEmOff’s hair, resulting in various viral videos.

Background

According to his website’s “Meet The Barber” section,^[1] Brandon Curington grew up in a small city outside of Chicago, and at the age of 12, he discovered his passion for cutting hair. In 2016, he enrolled in barber school and soon doubled as an entrepreneur by starting his own underwear line and T-shirt line. As of 2023, he lives and works in Stockbridge, Georgia.

 

Online History

Brandon Curington started his online presence on Instagram, uploading his first post^[2] on October 23rd, 2017, and gaining over 150 likes in six years. Around the same time, he was also present on Snapchat. ^[3] Throughout 2017 and 2018, Curington was still living in Chicago, and his barbershop’s name was Xclusive Cuttz, present in many of his Instagram^[4] captions at the time.

After Curington received his barber license in 2018, he started his own barber practice outside of Chicago and undertook a new business model of “erotic cuts” in which he’d be fully nude when giving a man his haircut. For instance, on April 15th, 2019, Twitter^[5] user ThatBaldBaker tweeted a screen recording from Curington’s Snapchat Story in which he was promoting and performing a nude haircut. The video received roughly 23,400 views in four years (screenshot shown below).

Although his page has since been banned, Curington grew his largest following on his Twitter^[6] account (@xclusive002) from 2019-2020, whereby in December 2020, he had amassed roughly 179,000 followers. On his Twitter, he posted many explicit videos that promoted his nude haircut business and his OnlyFans account (@ttuxclusive).

Awareness of Curington spread online between 2019 and 2021, mostly in regard to his Twitter and OnlyFans presences that hosted his explicit haircut videos. For instance, in late 2019, Twitter^[7] users would often ironically retweet Curington’s videos. On May 11th, 2020, Twitter^[8] user tysrevival quote retweeted a since-deleted erotic barber tweet, writing, “There’s a barbershop in ATL where they suck your dick while you get a cut,” gaining over 1,100 likes in three years.

In late 2021 and early 2022, erotic barber and Brand Curington memes became more prevalent after a specific explicit video surfaced in which Curington was with a group of other men wearing a blue baseball cap. For instance, sometime in early 2022, the ironic hood Instagram^[9] page itchyszn posted a meme in which Curington was calling the meme viewer in the style of a RapTV infographic. The original post received an unknown amount of likes, however, on February 5th, 2022, TikToker^[10] eskoob_ reposted the video, earning roughly 19,000 plays in three years (shown below).

Going into the early 2020s, ironic erotic barber memes surfaced en masse across social media platforms, specifically spiking in late 2022 on TikTok. This ultimately coincided with the rise in Ambatukam or Dreamybull memes that also surfaced en masse in 2022. For instance, on October 15th, 2022, TikToker^[11] dreamybulls0 posted a powerscaling edit including Dreamybull and Brandon Curington, gaining roughly 237,000 plays and 28,200 likes in three months (since deleted). On December 30th, 2022, TikToker^[12] zaraemployee457 posted a Dreamybull vs. Erotic Barber video that used a Vexbolts sound, gaining roughly 263,200 plays and 45,600 likes in two weeks (shown below).

Brandon Curington’s BruceDropEmOff Haircut

On March 8th, 2023, Brandon Curington posted a TikTok^[13] in which he shouted out Twitch streamer BruceDropEmOff whose fans had, according to Curington, asked him to cut Bruce’s hair. Over the course of five days, the video received roughly 1.9 million plays and 277,800 likes (shown below).

Due to the aforementioned TikTok and a history of BruceDropEmOff’s fans urging him to contact Curington, BruceDropEmOff had Curington come onto his Twitch stream on March 12th, 2023, and cut his hair live. On March 13th, 2023, BruceDropEmOff’s YouTube^[14] channel posted a 14-minute-long video from the stream, earning roughly 8,800 views in one hour (shown below).
