Irish media personality and comedian Brendan O’Connor was born on January 23, 1970. O’Connor grew up in the Bishopstown district of Cork, County Cork.

In the past, he attended Coláiste a Spioraid Naoimh in Bishopstown, Cork. He obtained his degree from University College Cork (UCC), where he also held the position of Recording Secretary for the Philosophical Society.

O’Connor sang in numerous bands while a student at UCC and first wanted to be a comedian. Even Frank and Walters, who would eventually become famous, only achieved minor success. Midway through the 1990s, he moved to Dublin. Soon after, he started writing for the Sunday Independent, one of Ireland’s most well-known periodicals, as a freelancer.

Cutting Edge on RTÉ is a panel discussion program that O’Connor moderates. From 2010 to 2015, he served as the host of The Saturday Night Show on RTE. He also frequently appears on newspaper pages 3 and 4. He is also in charge of the Life section of the magazine.
