Green was born in Van Nuys, California, to Joyce and George Green. He is of Scottish ancestry. When he was a child and joined the Screen Actors Guild, he added the middle name “Austin” to distinguish himself from other actors. Green grew up in North Hollywood and attended the Hamilton High School Academy of Music before graduating from North Hollywood High School.
