Information Minister, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced the government’s decision to appoint Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku as a COVID-19 awareness ambassador.
His appointment was based on the grounds that he is popular among his people in these areas and can use his voice and influence to get the message surrounding the COVID-19 down to the bottom.
The areas include James Town, Bukom, Chorkor, Korle Gonnor and Ga Mashie where Bukom Banku can use the Ga dialect to educate and inform the local folks.
However, a few days ago, the boxer announced on live television that he doesn’t believe in the existence of any Coronavirus in Ghana.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed this in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program Monday.
He said the boxer has decided to lead the education campaign in Bukom to help change the attitude of the people.
“Bukom Banku is now part of the public education team in Bukom and we are hopeful it will help to change some of the cultures,” Hon. Oppong Nkrumah added.
