Burhan Belge was a Turkish politician and diplomat who was a significant figure among the young intellectuals during the early stages of the Republic of Turkey and served as the deputy of Mula province during the 11th term of the Turkish National Assembly. He was a frequent writer to Kadro, a left-wing publication dedicated to “discussions on ideology and economic-development strategy.”

Burhan Asaf Belge was born in the month of December 1899 to Mehmet Asaf Paşa and Emine Rana Asaf. He had two siblings, Ayşe Leman Karaosmanolu (born Belge) and another.

Burhan Asaf Belge was the first spouse of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor (from May 1935 until December 1941), whom he met in Hungary while serving as Turkey’s Ambassador to Budapest. Gabor was 18 at the time of their marriage, and they had no children together. He was also Yakup Kadri Karaosmanolu’s brother-in-law.
