Canadian racing car racer Charles Leclerc was born and raised in the town of Monacan. A member of the Scuderia Ferrari squad, he is presently engaged in Formula One competition.
He won the GP3 Series championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship the following year.
2005 was the beginning of Leclerc’s career in karting, and he has since gone on to win the French PACA Championship three times: in 2005, 2006, and 2008.
In 2009, he took first place in the French Cadet Championship. The following year, he moved up to the KF3 class and took first place in the Junior Monaco Kart Cup.
2011 was his year to shine, as he took first place in the KF3 category in the CIK-FIA World Cup, the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, and the ERDF Junior Kart Masters.
