From his earliest years on, Bennington struggled with depression and substance misuse for the majority of his life.

Bennington originally achieved notoriety as a vocalist after Linkin Park’s debut album, Hybrid Theory, was released in 2000 and became a great international commercial success.

When Bennington was 11 years old, his parents divorced.

Because of the violence and the state of his home, he felt the want to flee and commit murder on others. In order to find solace, he painted composed music and wrote poetry.

Bennington’s father received custody of him after the divorce. Bennington began using substances such as amphetamine, alcohol, marijuana, opium, and LSD.

Chester Bennington’s cause of death

He was discovered dead at his Palos Verdes Estates, California, residence on July 20, 2017, and it was determined that he had committed suicide by hanging.

Linkin Park was found hanged in his Palos Verdes Estates home in Los Angeles County on the morning of July 20. He was just one week away from starting a 29-date North American tour.

The 41-year-old musician claimed he had to go to work when he returned home alone after spending time on vacation in Arizona with his wife Talinda and their kids.

In the bedroom where he had died, police allegedly found an alcohol bottle that was only partially empty.
