During his college football time, Santos was recognized for his achievements, being named to the All-Conference USA team three times and winning the conference’s special teams player of the year award in 2012. Notably, he broke the school record for percentage (.821) and number of career field goals attained (58).
Santos joined the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Despite being cut during training camp, he was able to find a home with the Chicago Bears, where he made his NFL debut the same year.
In 2018, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, continuing his NFL career. Then, in 2019, 2020, and 2021, Santos played for the Tennessee Titans, the New York Jets, and the Chicago Bears.
