A 32-year-old man was seriously hurt in a shooting on Thursday night in a high-rise in downtown Chicago, according to police reports.

Officers were called to a residential complex in the first block of East Monroe Street at around 7:38 p.m. After reaching there, they found the victim suffering from many gunshot wounds in a hallway. According to the police, the injured person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition but regrettably passed away from his injuries.

As per police officials, the victim and a 45-year-old man got into a verbal argument that ended with the older guy pulling a gun and shooting at the victim.

According to reports, police searched and were able to apprehend the suspect. Area Three detectives are in charge of the investigation, and charges against the suspect are anticipated, subject to additional investigation.

Meanwhile, another shooting occurred north of downtown Fort Wayne. The shooting incident left one man dead and another injured, as confirmed by the Fort Wayne Police Department. This incident happened at about 1:20 a.m. on Friday.

Police responded to the scene of a shooting in the 2000 block of St. Mary’s Avenue without delay. When they arrived, they saw two individuals who had been shot.

Responding police officials gave immediate aid while awaiting the arrival of medical personnel. However, despite their best attempts, one individual was declared dead on the spot by the medical professionals. According to the police, the other person was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

Authorities are actively looking for a light-colored car, maybe a Dodge Journey, that may be connected to the shooting even though no suspects have been named.

The incident is still under investigation. At a later time, the Allen County Coroner’s Office will reveal the victim’s name and cause of death.
