24-year-old Chris Kaba was reportedly shot by the police on September 5, 2022, after a tense chase. The wedding for Chris Kaba was scheduled for February 2023. Additionally, at the time of his death, he and his fiancée were expecting a child.
After a police watchdog group found no weapons or firearms in the 24-year-old’s possession when he was fatally shot by police, Chris Kaba’s family demanded a homicide investigation. The incident that resulted in his son’s death, according to his father, was “completely racist and criminal.”
The involved police officer has not yet been suspended from when the incident took place until now. According to reports, no gun was found anywhere near the incident. But his BMW’s windscreen was found to have a single bullet hole. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), a watchdog organization for the police, is looking into the fatal shooting as a homicide.
