On June 12, 1992, Chris Lewis, a professional rugby league football player for the National Rugby League’s Melbourne Storm, was born. Before being acquired by the Illawarra Steelers, Lewis participated in youth rugby league for the Ashford Roosters.
Lewis tried to enrol in first grade but was turned down; as a result, he went on to play park football for the Helensburgh Tigers, Shellharbour Sharks, and Thirroul Butchers.
He played for the Illawarra Cutters, who won the 2016 NSW Intrust Cup while earning his teaching credential at the University of Wollongong. Lewis made his Melbourne Storm debut against South Sydney in Round 4 of the 2020 NRL season.
His hat number 202 and Melbourne outfit were given to him by former Melbourne player Ryan Hoffman. Lewis stopped teaching in 2020 and started playing full-time sports. He made a few appearances for Melbourne.
