Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., better known by his stage name Gallagher, was a star in popular culture. The comedian, who was born on July 24th, 1946, began polishing his trade after graduation and received his big break in 1975 when he appeared on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show." In the American comedy scene, Gallagher was a legend who is best known for his signature joke, the Sledge-O-Matic. He was frequently observed smashing food or other items, such watermelons, with a heavy mallet. The retired actor appeared in 17 HBO and Showtime specials over the course of his career, beginning with An Uncensored Evening in 1980.

Gallagher was a gift to the world of comedy and the world at large as his unique sense of comedy is one that will rage on in the minds of people for time immemorial. He was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the United States on the 24th of July in 1946 to a family of Irish/Croatian heritage.

He was special as a kid as he from very early stages started showing signs of his unique sense of humor but had a problem that compelled the family to relocate their base in Ohio to Florida, he was asthmatic. That however didn’t stop the young brilliant man from earning a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida in 1970. Twice was he married and twice did he divorce and he is survived by his only child, Aimee Gallagher.

Aimee Gallagher is the only child of Gallagher and we do not know much about her except she is a fitness coach who is a regular globetrotter.
